SEMG (Surface Electromyography)
This is a computerized muscle evaluation. It measures the electrical activity of your muscles, which if too high leads to spasm and tension in the muscle. It is similar to an EKG, which measures heart muscle activity. The software automatically compares your values to normal values. It also will measure is one side working harder than the other, your right vs. your left. This is important to know because the muscles are attached to bones and if one side is pulling harder, then it will pull the bone in that direction. This is one component we may use to find the cause of your unwanted condition or to keep you in tip top shape.
Digital X-Ray
We utilize state of the art digital x-ray. Instead of taking your films and developing them and storing them in x-ray jackets kept on site. Your data is stored in a PACS (patient archiving communication system) server and with an off-site backup. This protects your PHI (personal health information) and leads to better communication between any and all of your providers. Your films can be emailed (if your provider has a DICOM reader/digital xray) or burned to a CD. This also allows for more flexibility in reading your films in numerous different ways. This also helps our environment, no more smelly chemicals.
A Paperless Office
In the future all medical offices will be required to have electronic health records for their patients. We are already there. You sign in electronically, check in with a key pad and laser swiper. Your doctor writes your notes and test results electronically. No bad handwriting to worry about! Combined with our digital x-ray, all of your data is easily saved, retrievable and protected on and off site.
Posture and Foot Analysis
Your posture will also be checked from the front, rear and side views. Your posture is the window to your spine and this will be used on a daily basis to monitor your progress. Lots of patients say, "I feel taller." Sometimes uneven leg length and foot issues cause problems in your posture. If that is the case, we will cast a custom made foot orthotic to "even you up" which will improve your results.
Experience
We try to have your experience in our office be: up to date with state of the art equipment with an old-fashioned, down-home feeling of people who care about your health and you as a person.
